MEIKO Sponsors Cost Saving Initiative Award at HEFMA Leadership Forum
MEIKO was proud to sponsor the Cost Saving Initiative Award at this year’s HEFMA National Leadership Forum, held at the superb new venue of the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
The award recognises excellence from Estates and Facilities teams and individuals working across the NHS in England.
It was a pleasure for Jon Sharp, Specification Manager – MEIKO UK Care, to present the award to the Paper Products Implementation Team from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The judges commented:
“A cross-functional collaboration between multiple teams has standardised all paper towel and toilet roll dispensers, and transitioned from folded to rolled hand towels across five hospital sites. Operational efficiency and productivity benefits relate to reduced refill frequency due to longer rolls, while stub roll mechanisms help prevent waste.”
Runners up:
- Non Clinical Contracts: Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust
- Nicola Watson: Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
- Health and Safety Department: NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group
For MEIKO, cost saving is about far more than reducing expenditure, it is about delivering long-term value through improved efficiency, sustainability, reliability, and infection prevention. Across healthcare environments, MEIKO solutions are designed to help reduce downtime, minimise waste, optimise resource usage, and support staff productivity, all while maintaining the highest hygiene standards.
Sponsoring the Cost Saving Initiative Award was therefore a natural fit for MEIKO, recognising NHS teams that are delivering innovative, practical solutions that create measurable operational and environmental benefits.
MEKO also attended the HEFMA Leadership Forum exhibition, where the Jon Sharp showcased its range of bedpan washer disinfectors and discussed how innovative cleaning and disinfection solutions can support infection prevention and operational efficiency within healthcare environments.
