HOTEL RITTER

UPster rack type dishwashing machine – the ideal solution when there's a need for speed

The four star hotel and Michelin-starred "Wilder Ritter" restaurant, including the Ritter cellar, the Ritter lounge and the "Wintergarten" restaurant for residents are drawing more and more guests. A renovation at the end of 2013 enlarged the hotel to its current 87 rooms.

No wonder that staff in the restaurant scullery are also pushed to the limit: "In an evening, we now have anything up to 1000 plates which we can deal with easily with the new UPster from MEIKO," says hotelier Dominic Müller, pleased. At Ritter, they were looking for a high performance machine which still didn't take up any more space than its predecessor. A trial of the UPster, newly developed in 2015, was just right: "with the UPster, we have completely redefined the compact class of hood type dishwashing machines," Michael Mayer is certain.

The Head of Sales for Germany, Switzerland and Austria at MEIKO identified that the requirements at "Ritter" could have been made for the new machine series. "The UPster is the perfect solution when an alternative solution needs to be found quickly, since it has quick delivery times thanks to its modular design. Its compactness ensures that there is space for it in the smallest scullery and its performance is right up there with our large machines such as the M-iQ," says Mayer.

The UPster therefore joined the team of André Tienelt, who loves the washing results from the new machine: "For me, a plate is the canvas on which we present our art," he describes the importance of a 100 percent perfect washing result and:

"We simply cannot use dishes which are not perfectly clean!"

But the Michelin-starred chef likes more than just the reliability, "We have significantly reduced our use of personnel because we can now save on drying and polishing," says Tienelt.

Hotel Ritter in Durbach has more than 350 years of visitor history. One of the first hotels in place in Ortenau has also written any amount of success stories itself. The latest: as a "wild knight" should, the restaurant of the same name ("Wilder Ritter") defended its Michelin star despite a change of head chef. Of course, the hotel is also counted among the top 25 in Germany in three categories, top hotels, top luxury hotels and top romantic hotels. And there are two more feathers to its cap (Gault Millau) as well, a "Best of Award of Excellence" from the Wine Spectator and an "F" in Feinschmecker on two occasions.
